HEAT Energy Audit
Home energy audit and rebate program for homes built before 2006.
What is it?
The HEAT Energy Audit is a comprehensive home energy audit delivered by the Home Energy Advice Team (HEAT). It costs just $30. The audit takes up to two hours and afterwards you are provided with a detailed written report. This report includes a list of practical actions you and your family can take to make your home more comfortable and energy efficient. The ACT Government also provides a rebate when you address the priority recommendations in your HEAT Energy Audit report.
Who can apply?
The HEAT Energy Audit is available for houses and semi-detached houses in the ACT that were built before 2006. The dwelling may be owner-occupied or rented.
Rebates on priority items recommended in the HEAT Energy Audit report are paid only to the homeowner. Tenants of rental properties must arrange for the homeowner to sign the rebate application form.

How do I access it?
To be eligible for a home energy audit, your home must have been built before 2006 and you need to provide the Home Energy Advice Team with your energy bills (electricity and/or gas) covering the 12 months prior to your audit. If you have been in your home less than 12 months, bills covering the period you have been in the residence will be sufficient.
