Energy
ACTSmart Schools is committed to the ACT Climate Change Strategy ‘Weathering the Change’. One of aims of the strategy is for ACT schools to be carbon neutral by 2017. To help achieve this, ACTSmart Schools is participating in the delivery of a major energy program in government schools
.
Schools receive a comprehensive energy audit, an offer to send a representative to an energy workshop, a comprehensive energy audit report and an ACTSmart Schools Energy Best Practice Guide.
Schools become an accredited ACTSmart energy-wise school following implementation of the audit recommendations, adoption of sustainable energy management strategies and a reduction in energy consumption.
Energy Curriculum
ACTSmart Schools has Energy Curriculum Units (P-Y10)
