Water
ACTSmart Schools has conducted water audits in over 100 ACTSmart Schools. A group of 28 schools has saved over 33,000 kilolitres of water in a year, saving over $67,000.
Each school receives a comprehensive water audit report and an ACTSmart Schools Water Best Practice Guide, providing step-by-step actions to reduce water consumption and protect water quality.
Schools become an accredited ACTSmart water-wise school after implementing the audit recommendations, adopting sustainable water management strategies, reducing water consumption and showing a commitment to maintaining water quality.
Accredited schools receive a certificate and library resources at a special presentation.
