Energy Behaviour Change

Are you trying to change behaviours at school to make reducing energy consumption fun and engaging?
Here are some tips on changing behaviours, from the Energy Best Practice Guide provided by Actsmart Schools:
- make sure all staff and students know that the school is aiming to reduce energy consumption
- make sure all staff and students know their roles and responsibilities
- use the activities from the Student Energy Action Kit to get the whole school on board
- 'flood' the school with messages to turn off lights, computers, printers and interactive white boards
- promote energy-saving measures at assemblies, in school newsletters and on student-designed posters, stickers and postcards, social media, as well as other forms of communication
- nominate energy monitors and reward them for their efforts
- organise competitions and present energy awards at assemblies.
